These Terms of Use apply to the fm4.com.br website, the FM4 learning platform (student area) and the purchase of the online courses. By creating an account, making a purchase or using the courses, you agree to these Terms. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data.
The courses are offered by FM4 SOLUCOES EM ENGENHARIA LTDA (FM4 Automation & Energy), CNPJ 36.575.204/0001-06, headquartered at Rua Ottokar Doerffel, 1249, Anita Garibaldi, Joinville/SC, CEP 89203-307. Contact: contato@fm4.com.br.
1. The courses
FM4 offers non-degree online courses in industrial automation (such as PLC, SCADA and Elipse E3), with video lessons, materials, module assessments, instructor support and a certificate of completion.
The content may be updated, reorganized or expanded to keep the courses accurate and current. If a lesson is moved or replaced, your progress is kept whenever possible.
2. Your account
- To study, you need an account with your full name, e-mail and CPF (Brazilian individual taxpayer ID). The information must be true: your name is used on the certificate and on the invoice.
- The account is personal and non-transferable. You may not share your login and password, split the account with other people or let someone else watch in your place.
- To protect the content, the videos display a watermark with your name and CPF.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential. If you suspect misuse, change your password and let us know.
- Your full name can only be changed upon request, through the platform itself, to make sure the certificate is issued correctly.
3. Purchase and payment
- Prices, payment methods and the number of installments are shown on the payment page before you confirm the purchase.
- Payment is processed by Asaas (a payment institution). FM4 does not receive or store your card details.
- Pix and credit card payments are usually confirmed immediately. A boleto (bank slip) may take up to 2 business days to be cleared by the bank.
- Access to the course is granted automatically once payment is confirmed, and you will receive an e-mail with access instructions.
- Discount coupons have their own rules (validity period, eligible courses, usage limit) and cannot be combined unless otherwise stated.
- The service invoice (nota fiscal) is issued in the buyer's name, using the information provided at purchase.
- Purchases made by companies (with a CNPJ, for one or more students) are arranged directly with FM4 through the For Companies page, with their own proposal and terms.
4. Access period
- Each course or plan has an access period, stated on the sales page (for example, 1 year from payment confirmation). The exact date appears under My Purchases on the platform.
- We will notify you by e-mail when your access is about to expire. If you renew, the new period is added to the time you still have left.
- After expiration, lessons and assessments are locked, but certificates already issued remain valid.
5. 7-day guarantee (right of withdrawal)
You may cancel your purchase within 7 (seven) calendar days from payment confirmation, without having to give a reason, under Article 49 of the Código de Defesa do Consumidor (Brazilian Consumer Protection Code). Simply send a request to contato@fm4.com.br or through Student Support.
- The amount is refunded in full, using the same payment method: for credit cards, the charge is canceled on your statement (the time it takes to appear depends on the card issuer); for Pix or boleto (bank slip), the amount is returned to the original account.
- Once refunded, access to the course ends and the invoice is canceled.
- After this period, no refunds are given, except in cases provided for by law.
6. How the courses work
- Lessons follow the course order: the next lesson is unlocked when you watch the video to the end.
- At the end of the modules there are multiple-choice assessments, with a time limit and a minimum passing score. If you do not pass, you can retake the assessment after a waiting period. The rules for each assessment (time limit, minimum score and waiting period) are shown on the platform before you start.
- The next module is unlocked when you pass the assessment of the previous module.
7. Certificate
- The certificate of completion is issued when you complete all lessons and pass the required assessments. It shows your name, the course, the course hours and a validation code, which anyone can check on the website.
- FM4 courses are non-degree professional training courses (cursos livres). The certificate proves your participation and approval, but it is not equivalent to a technical or higher-education diploma and does not require authorization from the MEC (Brazil's Ministry of Education).
8. Student Support
Questions about the content are answered by the instructor through Student Support on the platform. We aim to reply within 2 business days. Support covers the course content; it does not include consulting for specific projects.
9. Rights to the content
All course content (videos, texts, handouts, exercises, assessments, trademarks and logos) belongs to FM4 or is used with permission, and is protected by the Lei de Direitos Autorais (Brazilian Copyright Law, Law No. 9,610/98). Your purchase grants you a personal license to study through the platform during the access period. You may not:
- download, screen-record, copy or reproduce the lessons;
- resell, distribute, publish or share the content, in whole or in part, in any medium;
- use the content to deliver training to third parties.
10. Proper use
When using the website and the platform, you agree not to try to bypass the lesson order, the assessments or the video protections; not to use automated programs; and to treat the instructor with respect in Student Support.
In the event of a violation of these Terms (for example, sharing your account or distributing the content), FM4 may block your access without a refund, in addition to taking appropriate legal action.
11. Availability
We work to keep the platform online at all times, but interruptions may occur for maintenance, updates or technical problems beyond our control. Scheduled maintenance is announced on the platform itself whenever possible. To watch the lessons, you need an internet connection and an up-to-date browser.
12. Liability
The courses teach industrial automation concepts and practices. Applying this knowledge in real installations must follow the applicable technical and safety standards (such as the Brazilian regulatory standards NR-10 and NR-12) and is the responsibility of whoever performs the work.
13. Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated. The current version is always available on this page, with the date of the last update. Significant changes will be announced by e-mail or on the platform. The conditions of your purchase (price and access period) do not change after it is confirmed.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Brazilian law, including the Código de Defesa do Consumidor. The courts of the judicial district of Joinville/SC are chosen as the venue, without prejudice to the consumer's right to choose the courts of their place of residence.
